      How do your treatments work?

Our medications reduce appetite and cravings, helping you eat less without feeling deprived. Each works slightly differently but all aim to support healthier eating habits alongside lifestyle changes.

Are your weight loss treatrments safe?

All of the medications we prescribe are generally safe when used as directed. However, like any medication, they can have side effects. The most common side effects of Saxenda and Ozempic are nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The most common side effect of orlistat is oily stools.

What are the potential side effects of treatments?

Common side effects include nausea, mild digestive issues, or headaches. Most symptoms are temporary and manageable, but we’ll discuss this with you before starting treatment.

Can I get weight loss treatment on the NHS?

Criteria for NHS treatment includes a BMI of 40+ (or 37.5+ for people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean ethnic backgrounds and have at least four of the following weight-related problems:

          • High blood pressure (hypertension).
          • High cholesterol or abnormal fat levels in your blood (dyslipidaemia).

How often do I need to receive treatment?

Treatment frequency varies by medication — some require daily doses, others weekly. Your pharmacist will create a schedule suited to you.

Can weight loss methods be combined?

Yes, weight loss treatments can be combined with other weight loss methods, such as diet and exercise. In fact, this approach is a most effective way to lose weight and keep it off.

How long does it take to see results?

Most people notice weight changes within 4 to 6 weeks, but results vary based on the individual and treatment plan.

Are your treatments suitable for everyone?

Not all patients are candidates. Health conditions and other factors affect suitability, so consultation is essential.

How much do weight loss treatments cost?

We offer free private consultations with our pharmacist—you only pay for the treatment itself. The cost of weight loss treatments varies depending on the specific option you choose; our pharmacist will provide full details during your consultation.

If you are eligible for NHS treatment (which must be initiated by your GP), you may be exempt from NHS prescription charges.
